I'm off to celebrate ^_^ October 22nd, 2007 - Approval from TFL.org obtained! Started building. About Fanlistings What is a fanlisting? Well, according to The Fanlistings: "A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are); they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans. "TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans." So, in the case of this particular FL, I (Anna) am the individual who has created this list of fans of QueenAdreena. If you want to sign up and show your love, you're very welcome to do so. Just head on over to the Join page - but don't forget to read the rules first!. If you're still confused or unsure, read on :) About QueenAdreena The biography on QA's Official Site is still being written, so here's a little blurb from good ol' wiki: "QueenAdreena is an independent rock band from London, England which is currently signed to One Little Indian Records. Vocalist KatieJane Garside and guitarist Crispin Gray had previously collaborated in the celebrated but short-lived band Daisy Chainsaw. They were joined by drummer Billy Freedom and bassist Orson Wajih and then released their first album, Taxidermy, in 2000, on the Blanco y Negro Records imprint. After its release, the band's name was changed slightly, from 'Queen Adreena' to 'QueenAdreena' and subsequent releases reflect this. "Billy Freedom was replaced in 2002 by drummer Pete Howard, formerly of The Clash. The band signed with Rough Trade for their second album, 2002's Drink Me, featuring the roaring lead single Pretty Like Drugs. "Rough Trade dropped them shortly after the release of Drink Me, and Wajih left the band at that time. The band signed with One Little Indian Records and released 2005's The Butcher and the Butterfly with KatieJane's sister, Melanie Garside on bass, who left soon after and was replaced by Paul Jackson (not the fusion bassist of the same name). "2005's live album Live at the ICA was recorded at the Institute on Contemporary Arts in London. "Paul Jackson left in 2006 and was replaced by Nomi Leonard. "The band are working on a new album to be released in 2008." In my humble opinion, QueenAdreena are one of the most exctiting, impassioned and original bands I've heard in years, and the fact that they're female-fronted and from the UK only serves to send the awesomeness rating off the scale. Who said rock was dead?!? About This Site Where to start... Losing Ground itself came into being almost five years ago - my husband's site, as it remains today. He has recently been kind enough (Well, I did marry him) to give me numerous subdomains, the first of which was Faceless And Frightened. FAF is still in the process of being built - I plan on it being big as - and details more about me and about my experiences with mental illness, both those particular to me and to others close to me. Then I got into fanlistings, and just had to make a collective; thus Entwined was born. And finally, Rip Open The Firmament is the first FL that I have built myself. I'm like a proud momma, and I can assure you, more are in the pipeline! A few technical details: This site was built usually only HTML, but future versions will be made compatible XHTML and CSS. It is best viewed in Firefox 2 at 1024x768, but has been tested and should display fine in all other browsers and resolutions. The header and background were made using a plethora of different graphics and image editing software, including Adobe Photoshop CS2, Microsoft Paint (lol) and Picasa. Sources used are credited below. About Me I'm Anna. Female. 17. Living in the UK, with my husband of nearly four months :) More than slightly geeky, super messed up, but recently only too happy to absorb myself in the big wide world of fanlistings! But you've probably figured all that out already. Besides, all you really need to know is this: I Am Your Webmistress. Hear Me Roar. Oh, and that you can contact me here :P Credits Rough Trade (Press image used in the main graphic). PhotoShop Brushes (Various brushes used in the graphic and in the background). I am in no way affiliated with the members of QueenAdreena or their management, and they do not endorse this site - it is completely unofficial, and I am just a fan like the rest of you!
